Places to visit near Basingstoke

It’s always easy to be complacent with the places you know, but it comes as a pleasant surprise when you discover somewhere new and interesting. I can’t imagine you’d ever been to my hometown of Basingstoke, in Hampshire, England.  By now you might be wondering why I would travel all the way from across the planet to tell you about some random town in Britain. Moving away from the Basingstoke region for a moment if you are just visiting you should also check out Brighton (60 miles), Oxford (40 miles), and Winchester (18 miles).

If that is too far, there are plenty of places to visit in Hampshire just outside of Basingstoke including Fonthill Abbey. I am a huge fan of travel and I’ve travelled the world extensively, visiting some incredible places. One of my favourite places is Basingstoke. Granted, it’s not the most exotic of locations, but if you can appreciate natural beauty and great weather then you’ll love this part of the UK. Although small in comparison to London or Edinburgh, Basingstoke has an attractive layout of parks and gardens.
